☾ How do I secure my booking?
Once you have chosen your wedding package and decide to book, we will get your contract listing the full terms of the day and invoice requiring a 40% non refundable retainer, once both are completed, your date will be locked in!
☾ Do you offer discounts?
Yes for weddings! We offer a handful of discounts for -
- $50 off - Military and veterans
- $50 off - Police, Fire, and EMT
- $50 off - Nurses
- 5% off - payment in full.
☾ Do you offer refunds?
The retainer fee is non-refundable.
Your retainer secures your date – therefore, anyone else enquiring for your wedding date will be turned away. If you have paid in full and your wedding is cancelled, we will refund all money paid (except your retainer) if notice is given within the time period specified in your contract.
☾ Can I make payments? When are payments due?
The 40% non refundable retainer is due at the time of booking, the remainder is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding, you can make payments however you like leading up to that point (Be sure to save the email with your invoice as it is the same invoice you will have the entire time) Some clients make payments every other week at their convenience, some choose to do it all at the 2 week mark, its entirely up to you!
☾ Do I get to talk to or meet my photographer/ videographer before my wedding?
Yes! We highly recommend it!! We try to set up a consultation call at the time of booking, but we know not everyone is a phone person, If you are one of those people there prefer email and text we accommodate that completely!We do include engagement sessions in a handful of our packages, and always recommend adding it on to packages that don’t have it, it lets us have a chance to work together prior to your wedding day, to give you a feel for how we work. And to help ease minds about the vibe of how the day will be with one or two new people hovering around you most the day! Lol
☾ Can I upgrade my package in the future after booking?
If there is availability, absolutely you can!
☾ I don’t know if I want a package with one photographer or two. Why do I need two photographers?
If you aren’t having videography, we highly recommend having two photographers, it lets you have a range of angles and perspectives you wouldn’t normally be able to have with just one photographer. The main photographer can and will get the important shots, the secondary is able to get other shots the main may not have seen, the in between moments, we like to call them.
☾ Will one photographer be enough?? I can’t afford two currently.
Definitely!! We recommend two, but we pride ourselves on being able to get you what you need for your perfect gallery no matter the conditions. Our main photographer is skilled and will take great care of you!
☾ We are super awkward in front of the camera, how do you deal with that?
More people than you think say this, and surprisingly, we still manage to use our tricks to get them all gorgeous galleries. We have worked with hundreds of couples over the last 8 years and have been able to come up with ways to help our clients feel comfortable in front of the lens. We do recommend trying to come with an open mind though, and not putting the energy into thinking you are awkward. Put your energy into the session being fun. The more fun you plan to have, the better the gallery will be. Promise!
☾ How long will the pictures and video take? We don’t want to miss all of our reception??
This question comes up a lot and we completely understand! You want to enjoy your wedding day and be fully present, celebrating with your loved ones.
Family pictures – 20/30 minutes straight after your ceremony. We have a flow for family portraits that makes sure they are done smoothly, please be sure to read the email you get 2 weeks prior to the wedding to ensure than this runs smoothly.
Couples session – best done during sunset so depending on the time of year you have booked your wedding will determine the time.
The more time you can give us here, the better. About 30-45 minutes will guarantee some amazing photos and footage.
Throughout the day, we may randomly pull you aside for a creative shot we have in mind but we won’t keep you too long we promise! It would have already been planned, and tested to be sure to limit the amount of time we pull you away.
☾ We have specific photo requests is that ok?
Absolutely!! This is your wedding! While you hired us for our creativity, we know that some clients will have something specific to them that we will not know about so please please speak up and let us know and we will do everything we can to work with it.
☾ We love a certain style of editing can you alter your editing for us?
We are happy to work with you if you are wanting something like, nothing posed, only candid. Or only color no black and white, or only black and white no color. However, our editing style is set, when you book us you can see that our editing is consistent and that is the style you will be getting. I would recommend looking for a photographer and videographer in the style editing you like in that instance, as we won’t be able to edit in a way that isn’t true to us as artists.
☾ How long before I receive my photos and video?
You will have a preview within 7 days of your wedding for photo and your teaser video, your full wedding gallery and highlight video (4-8 minute long video) will be delivered within 6-9 weeks. We will always update you on this should anything change.
☾ We want to book a destination wedding, what will the additional costs be?
We adore destination weddings! Be sure to reach out to us before hand in a message on social media to ask us about any specials we are running for the specific destination you are going to. We offer that quite often!
Additional costs include flights and accommodation.
☾ When do you take your break?
We take our break during dinner. Normally right as the bride and groom sit down to eat, or get served, as no one wants to have pictures of them eating! :) We will either eat at the venue if food is provided, or if food is not provided, we will leave the venue and find the nearest food we can.
☾ Do we own the copyright to our photos?
You will have a print release, and the copyright stays with Twomermaids Photography.
We do this to protect our work, it stops others from stealing our images and editing them as their own.
☾ How will my photos and video be delivered?
Your photos will be delivered in an online digital gallery with a download link, that stays up for 3 months so please download and backup multiple times, as they will be archived after 3 months and there is a fee to pull them from archival.
☾ Can we have every image? Even the unedited ones?
No, We do not release every image. We only deliver final products. Unedited images are not a full representation of our work.
☾ How many photos will I get?
This depends on your wedding day. I like to say it can be between 50 and 150 per hour depending on what is happening in any given hour. We take 2-3 thousand pictures most wedding days, and then limit that down to the best ones, which for an 8 hour wedding is normally around 1000 pictures roughly. (This varies every wedding) You will receive every usable image, I promise.
